Global Forum of Professionals for Sri Lanka

An independent bridge between global expertise and national progress

The Global Forum of Professionals for Sri Lanka originated through discussions among Sri Lankan professionals in Australia who recognised the considerable knowledge, experience and international connections available within the global Sri Lankan community.

Professionals in a hybrid international meeting

GFPSL is being developed as a worldwide professional network through which Sri Lankan specialists can voluntarily contribute their expertise or participate in formally structured assignments when requested.

The Forum is independent, non-political and committed to professional integrity, impartiality and Sri Lanka's long-term national interest.

Voluntary contribution

Professionals may voluntarily contribute their expertise to requests that match their skills and availability.

Formal engagement

Members may participate in formally structured assignments when requested by government or approved institutions.

Six foundations of the Forum

01

Why GFPSL was established

Recognising the considerable knowledge, experience and international connections available within the global Sri Lankan community, and the absence of a single, independent channel to mobilise it for national development.

02

The value of the diaspora

Thousands of Sri Lankan professionals have gained world-class expertise across engineering, technology, medicine, finance, law, agriculture, education, infrastructure, business, science, sports sciences and public health.

03

Australia-to-global development

The Forum originated through discussions among Sri Lankan professionals in Australia and is being developed as a worldwide professional network spanning every major region.

04

Commitment to Sri Lanka

GFPSL is committed to professional integrity, impartiality and Sri Lanka's long-term national interest — independent of politics and personal gain.

05

Independent & non-political

The Forum is independent, non-political and non-partisan. Membership does not imply government appointment or endorsement. Public statements require authorised approval.

06

Relationship with existing organisations

GFPSL does not compete with existing professional organisations. It complements their work through a collaborative platform for global Sri Lankan expertise.

“We believe that Sri Lanka's future can be strengthened by connecting local knowledge with global expertise, encouraging evidence-based decision-making, transferring technology and international best practice, and developing practical solutions to national challenges.”
